Why is my outside AC unit not turning on?

Common causes include a failed capacitor, bad contactor, missing low-voltage call, open safety, tripped breaker, disconnect issue, motor failure, or compressor problem. We test power and controls before naming the part. A quiet outdoor unit does not automatically mean the compressor failed.

Can the condenser run but still not cool?

Yes. The fan can run while the compressor is off, weak, or protected by overload. The system can also run with poor refrigerant conditions, poor indoor airflow, or a dirty outdoor coil. Running sound alone does not prove the condenser is doing its job.

Should I keep resetting the breaker?
